In January 2003, the board of directors of Boao Forum for Asia voted Mr. Long Yongtu as the Secretary General for Boao Forum.

Gratuated in 1965 from the English Department of Guizhou University, Mr. Long Yongtu studied in the graduate school of London School of Economics, majoring at International Economics.

In January 1992, Mr. Long Yongtu participated the negotiations for rejoining to the GATT, as the Director of the international departments of Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation. In 1994 he was promoted Assistant Minister and the Vice Minister in 1997. From January 1995 to September 2001, as the chief negotiator, he has taken the lead in negotiating China's entrance into the WTO.

Mr. Long Yongtu has been frequently invited to seminars organized by world-known research and academic institutes as well as prestigious universities.

Aca. Dai Ruwei / 戴汝为 院士
President of Chinese Automation Association

Expert in control theory and Artificial Intelligence. Born in Kunming city, Yunnan province, Dai Ruwei graduated from the mathematics and mechanics dept of Peking University in 1955. He works as a researcher at the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Science. In the 1950s he was engaged in the research of engineering cybernetics and optimized control and successfully resolved the calculating puzzle of quick control. In 1970s he took the lead in initiating the research on pattern recognition. In mid-1980s he developed applications of artificial neural network in knowledge engineering, and practiced pattern recognition, associative memory and imagery thinking via artificial neural network. It provided an unified model for pattern description and knowledge expression, further raised a model integrating pattern description and knowledge expression via physical symbol processing, qualitative physics, Knowledge visualization and artificial neural network and brought it into reality technically. In 1991 he was elected Member of Chinese Academy of Science.

Sun Bolin / 孙柏林

The 4th to 8th Vice president of Chinese Automation Association, Secretary General of IFAC‘99 NOC, directive commissioner of expert consultive committee of Chinese Automation Association, vice director of the consultative committee of China Computer Industrial Association PICMG/P.R.C, member of office panel of ASEA, consultant and director of evaluation committee of ASEA. Other titles include editor, vice editor-in-chief, editor-in-chief of Research on Soft Science, Automation Panorama, Information and Control, Control and Decision and so on. He has also taken the position of vice chairman of Informationalization and Automatization of Chinese Enterprises Forum in 2004 and 2005, vice chairman of Informationization and Automatization Application Convention of Pan-Pearl River Delta Enterprises 2005 and so on.

Mr. Li Junfeng is currently serving as the Deputy Director of Energy Research Institute, National Development and Reform Commission. He also holds the professional and academic positions as a Professor and the Chair of the Academic Committee of ERI, and the General Secretary of Chinese Renewable Industrial Association, Vice-Chairman of Global Wind Energy Council, Vice-Chairman of REN 21, etc.

He was graduated from Shandong Mining Institute in 1982. Mr. Li is the focal point of REEEP program for the Region of East Asia. He engaged himself of the projects development for GEF and World Bank, UNDP and other program for renewable energy development in China. Recent years, he also involved in Climate Change issue, especially in technology transfer, CDM and carbon trade issues, and has been heading the development of the first CDM project in China. He chaired the Sustainable Energy Task Force of the Chinese High Technology 863 Programme under the tenth national five-year plan, and the member of the Hydrogen Task Force of National High Technology 973 Programme. He facilitated the implementation of the national high technology programme for Wind and Solar PV within the tenth five-year plan. Meanwhile, he is also the chief leader author for the development of Chinese Renewable Energy Law.

Born in Lian Yungang in Jiangsu province, he graduated from Nanjing Institute of Technology (now the Southeast University) in July 1965 with a bachalor's degree. He is mainly involved in the petrochemical automation design. Now he works as the senior engineer, associate chief engineer of SINOPEC Engineering Incorporation, broad member of Chinese Automation Association, vice broad chair of Beijing Automation Association, vice associate directive member of the technical committe of Sinopec Self-control center station, Sinopec DCS, ESD expert in appraising bids. . His main works include Application of Distribute Control System in Industrial Process and Manual for Petrochemical Automation Design.

Chen Xu,Professor and President of Tsinghua University,PhD in Electronic Science and Technology,has been engaging in the research of ultra-high vacuum technology,mass spectrometry analysis and leak derection,atmospheric aerosol sampling and component analysis.As the main participator,she has successfully led more than 10 scientific research projects,obtained more than 4 State and Provincal Science and Technology .Advancernent Awards,and published more than 40 theses.She and Professor Wang Yu-zhi from Southwest Jiaotong University have coauthored and published Vacuum Technology,which is the key text book by the Commission of Science Technology and industry for National Defense.Currently,she is the Executive Director Society,and President of Shooting Branch of Federation of University Sports of China.
