On Jan. 17, SIAS signed a contract to provide distributed control system for 600000MT/A Soda plant to Shangdong Haihua Company. Headquartered in Weifang, Shangdong province, Shangdong Haihua Company owns the largest soda production facilities in Asia. The company was listed in Shenzhen Stock Exchange and is one of the top 8 enterprises in Shandong. SIAS won this bid in competition with ABB, Yokogawa and Foxboro.

Collaboration is crucial to win this project, colleagues from SLC Qingdao Office, SLC Beijing Office, SIAS Beijing Office and SIAS BSU1 joined their efforts to the pre-sales work. This project also shows great advantage of the concept 'TIA'. Because the customer accepted TIA concept, and requested all system providers to configure this system according to TIA concept, Emerson was compelled to give up this project. Honeywell, after purchased the tendering document, quitted.

The system configuration is based on PCS7 system, IO counts amounts to 9588. There are 8 pairs of AS400 controllers, 27 S7-300 controllers and ET200M IO systems. The system has 2 pairs of data servers and 24 operator's stations. Sias will provide project management, system integration and commissioning help for the project.

After finishing kick off meeting, training, programming, IT, FAT and SAT, Haihua 600kt/a soda plant began to start up in Jan 15, 2004 and get regular product in Jan 16, 2004. the start up date is earlier 2 months then time schedule. During the executing of project, we meet a lot of difficulties such as SARS, complex structure, huge workload and the requirement of ahead of schedule. Different levels managers of SIAS paid more attention to the project and members of project worked very hard and cooperated with customers very well. All the above factors are the reasons that we can execute the huge project successfully.
