Based on the state-of-the-art technology provided by Siemens AG, SEDL manufactures drives, mo-tors and generators of the same functionality, design and quality as the Siemens factories in Europe and America. From the beginning of 1996 till now, we have been producing the digital AC & DC drives, traction converters, traction motors and generator motors in our four workshops. A big step has been spanned to the goal that being the No.1 drives manufacturer in China. Now hundreds of thousands of SEDL products have been used by domestic customers, such like in the fields of met-allurgy, steel, mine, petroleum chemicals, heavy-lifting, elevator, paper, textile, mass transportation and wind power.

SEDL adopted the modern management mode with Siemens characteristic, implemented the com-prehensive quality control in contract management, logistics, production and after sales service ac-cording to ISO9001: 2000. For further optimization of the processes, SAP system was introduced to the company. Winning the market with products and winning the customers with service, by co-operation with Siemens Ltd., China, SEDL provides full scale service to all customers in all aspects from consultation, sales, technical training to after sales service, bringing satisfaction to customers.

In Dec 2005, we passed external audit of DQS Certification Company and got the ISO14001:2004 certificate successfully. Through establishment and implementation of environmental management system, we continually improve hazardous chemical management, solid waste management, resource & energy management, environmental monitoring management and emergency response management etc. Thereby SEDL control the emission of pollutant effectively, push forward to the cleaner production and pollution prevention, fulfil the commitment to society.

On March 9th, 2005, Siemens announced a major investment of up to 550 million RMB to build SEDL’s new factory. The new factory is located in Tianjin High-Tech Industrial Park, total area is 180,000 square meters, and construction area is around 65,000 square meters. The goal is to de-velop SEDL in Tianjin into a global factory for motors, drives and generators that serves the Asia-Pacific market.

As the important part of Siemens global strategy, the Research& Development department was set up in Siemens Electrical Drives Ltd. At November of 2006. To be a branch of Siemens Research& development force, SEDL implement tasks at the same development platform and process as them in headquarter of German. After fully considering the wish and requirements from Asia-Pacific area we are developing the products that suit our customer best, at same time always keeping the high performance characteristic of Siemens products.

As one of the largest foreign-invested companies in Tianjin, from establishment to now, SEDL is in rapid progress, and the sales revenue increased year by year.
