Siemens Electrical Apparatus Ltd., Suzhou (SEAL)
Siemens Electrical Apparatus Ltd., Suzhou (SEAL) was set up in 1994 as a joint venture between Siemens AG and the then Suzhou Machine Tool Electrical Appliances Plant, and SEAL focuses on the manufacturing of contactors, overload relays, contactor relays, and breakers, etc.
Main products: AC/DC-driven 3TF, 3TS, 3TB contactors, 3UA overload relays, 3TH contactor relays, 3TD reversing contactor combinations and 3VU, 3VL breakers (MCCB), 3WT, 3WL breakers (ACB), 3SB push buttons, indicators, LV cubicles, 4EU chokes, 4BU transformers. Push buttons, indicators, cam switch with APT brand.
In July, 2001, Siemens Ltd (China) acquired all the remaining stakes from the Chinese partner, and SEAL became a foreign-invested company fully owned by Siemens.
In May, 2003, SEAL was approved by the Chinese Government to acquire Siemens Electrical Apparatus Co Ltd, Beijing, and SEAL's registered capital was increased to DM 58.04 million from 46.24 million.
In April 2006, SEAL's register capital was increased to EUR 40.20 million.
In April 2006, SEAL set up Tianjin Branch.
In August 2006, SEAL set up Shanghai Branch and Tiantai Branch which operates main products with APT brand of Shanghai APT (Ergong) Co., Ltd.
There are nearly 1700 employees working for SEAL up to date.
Quality is essential to success, and SEAL have been implementing ISO9002 quality management system since early days to constantly improve the overall quality control. SEAL obtained the TUV certificate of ISO9002 in November 1998, and its product series have acquired the CE and CCC certificate since then. Also SEAL was certified by ISO 14000 Environmental Management System in November 2003.
SEAL is located at Suzhou National New- and High-tech Development Zone, which SEAL moved into in April, 2002, with a new plant covering a total area of 87,000 square meters upon completion. So far Phase I and Phase II factory building, and Phase III R&D building are already in operation.
In June, 2003 SEAL established the R&D division dedicated to development of low-voltage electrical apparatus and components. With about 80 engineers today, the division is expected to recruit more engineers, and to equip the labs with advanced facilities and world-leading technologies. The division is supposed to optimize the structure and performance of the existing products while continue developing next-generation products in low-voltage apparatus targeting both the China and overseas markets.
With the establishment of R&D function, SEAL is able to bring more innovative technologies and better service to the market.
Major products:
- 3TF/ 3TB AC Contactors:
Mainly used for making/ breaking electric circuits at long distance and for frequent starting/ stopping as well as controlling both directions of rotation of AC motors.
- 3TD Reversing Contactor Combinations:
Mainly used for controlling the forward and reverse rotation of AC motors.
- 3TH Contactors Relays:
As essential low-voltage apparatus for automation and remote control, they can be used for controlling all kinds of magnetic coils to amplify and transfer signals.
- 3UA Overload Relays:
The relays are suitable for overload protection of AC motors. Several functions provided by these relays are phase failure protection, temperature compensation, ON/OFF indication and manual/ automatic reset.
- 3VU Circuit-Breakers:
Mainly used for motor & transformer protection, plant protection, starter combinations protection. Several functions provided by 3VU are: phase-failure protection, temperature compensation. Circuit-breakers and contactors can be combined to form fuseless starter.
- 3VL Circuit-Breakers:
Mainly used as switching and protecting devices for motor & transformer, plant, phase-failure, starter combinations. These circuit breakers are exclusively equipped with adjustable instantaneous short-circuit releases.
- 3WT Circuit-Breakers:
Mainly used for the various protections of distribution systems, motors, transformers, generators, etc.
