(SEDL) is a joint venture production base for fully digital controlled AC and DC drives and motors owned by Siemens Ltd., China and its Chinese partners which are BENEFO and TRIED. SEDL was set up at the beginning of 1995, registered in Tianjin High-Tech Park，factory area is 180000 square meter..

Based on the state-of-the-art technology provided by Siemens Germany, SEDL manufactures drives, motors and generators of the same functionality, design and quality as the Siemens factories in Europe and America. From the beginning of 1996 till now, we have been producing the digital AC & DC drives, traction converters, traction motors industry motors and generator motors in our three workshops. A big step has been spanned to the goal that being the No.1 drives manufacturer in Asia-Pacific. Now hundreds of thousands of SEDL products have been used by domestic & overseas customers, such like in the fields of metallurgy, steel, mine, petroleum chemicals, heavy- lifting, elevator, paper, textile, railway transports and wind power.

SEDL adopted the modern management mode with Siemens characteristic, implemented the comprehensive quality control in contract management, logistics, production and after sales service according to ISO9001: 2000. For further optimization of the processes, SAP system was introduced to the company. Winning the market with products and winning the customers with service, by co-operation with Siemens Ltd., China, SEDL provides full scale service to all customers in all aspects from consultation, sales, technical training to after sales service, bringing satisfaction to customers.

As an enterprise citizen, SEDL passed external audit of DQS Certification Company and got the ISO14001:2004 certificate successfully. Through establishment and implementation of environmental management system, we continually improve resource & energy management, environmental monitoring management, solid waste man-ageement, hazardous chemical management and emergency response management etc. Thereby SEDL reduce the consumption of resource & energy, control the emission of pollutant effectively, push forward to the cleaner pro-duction and pollution prevention, fulfi l the commitment to society.

As the important part of Siemens global strategy, the Research & Development department was set up in Siemens Electrical Drives Ltd. in October of 2006. To be a branch of Siemens research & development force, SEDL implement tasks at the same development platform and process as them in headquarter of Germany. After fully considering the wish and requirements from Asia-Pacifi c area we are developing the products that suit our customer best, at the same time always keeping the high performance characteristic of Siemens products.

As one of the largest foreign-invested companies in Tianjin, from establishment to now, SEDL is in rapid progress, and the sales revenue increased year by year.
