Siemens Standard Motors Ltd (SSML), set up in December 2005, is a joint venture between Siemens Ltd., China, Industry Sector, Industry Automation and Drive Technologies Divisions' (IA&DT, formerly called "Automation and Drives Group") and one of China's leading standard motor manufacturer, Jiangsu Beide Electrical Machinery Corporation.

Siemens (China) Ltd holds an 85% stake, while Beide has the remaining share in SSML. With about 1,400 employees and a total area of 125,000 square meters, the joint venture officially started operation on March 1, 2006, focusing on developing and manufacturing a full series of low- and middle-voltage motor products ranging from 0.3 kilowatts to 200 kilowatts.

The establishment of SSML has further enriched Siemens SLC I IA&DT's existing product portfolio by adding key motor product series, so that we are able to provide an entire chain of locally-manufactured product in China covering all drive products and systems, from converters, gearboxes to motors. Local production together with a unified supply system means that we are able to response more rapidly and more accurately to our customers' requirements, to help them increase the production efficiency. All these efforts will contribute to better quality of our products and services.

Apart from diversified standard motor products, we also offer special motors such as constant torque motors, roller table motors, increased efficiency motors, inverter motors, flame proved motors and explosion proved motors.

Thanks to the strong market presence of Siemens China Ltd., we expect to become a leading provider in China's medium-end motor market segment, and setting up SSML is a significant step forward in building on a greater success towards a glittering and brilliant future.

Major products:
A full series of low- and middle-voltage motor products ranging from 0.3 kilowatts to 200 kilowatts. Apart from diversified standard motor products, special motors such as constant torque motors, roller table motors, increased efficiency motors, inverter motors, flame proved motors and explosion proved motors.
