Under the support of Automation Teaching Guidance Committee and Education committee of CAA, 2007 Campus PLC Teaching Seminar and Teachers Training Conference would be held in Qingdao University from July 30th to August 2nd. Co-hosted by China Machine Press and Siemens Ltd. China, the conference aims to enhance the teaching level of PLC in universities and to provide a chance for teachers to communicate and discuss about the development, reform, method, experience of PLC teaching and lab construction.

Up to June 22nd, the conference has invited nearly 100 experts in automation field and teachers in PLC teaching in colleges and universities. The expected number would be around 160. Besides, leaders and technical staff from Siemens would also take part in the conference and give training to teachers on S7-300/400, PROFINET and Safety.

There are three parts in the conference. First, Siemens would introduce current situation of Siemens' cooperation with universities. The teachers would be invited to visit Siemens small control system training center and football product line demo. The press would introduce the current process of PLC textbooks and the plan of publishing Siemens Automation System Engineer Series Textbooks with Siemens. The second part is to invite experts in automation industry to give training to teachers. The third part is the discussion among universities teachers.

We believe this conference would definitely improve the development of PLC teaching in automation industry and start a new chapter of the cooperation between Siemens and universities.
