Siemens holds China Industry Day at Hannover Fair
First China-focused event by Siemens at Hannover reflects "Zero distance to the customer"
Siemens Automation and Drives Group (A&D) held on April 21 the China Industry Day (CID) at the Hannover Fair, Germany. It was the first time that a China-focused event was organized by Siemens at the world's top industry exhibition, with participation of about 300 customers from various sectors of China, A&D's third-largest market globally, and Siemens AG top executives from Germany and China. The in-depth communication with customers through the one-day event reflects the principle of "Zero distance to the customer" that A&D has been pursuing in its daily operation and its strong commitment to the China market.
Mr. Peter Herweck, Executive Vice-President of Siemens Ltd, China and President of Automation and Drives Group, delivered the welcome speech at the event on A&D helping Chinese customers increase productivity. "We have decided to hold a special event for our Chinese customers and partners¡This CID is designed as a platform where we can share our experience, our innovations and ideas that will propel the business development of us all together," he said, "we expect this event to be as a bridge connecting our customers and Siemens A&D, for better understanding, more communication and closer cooperation."
Mr. Klaus Helmrich, Chief Executive Officer of Drive Technologies Division, Siemens Industry Sector, delivered a speech on retrospect of Siemens' history in China and its business portfolio to help China take the challenges from social and economic development. At the same time, Prof. Dr. Klaus Wucherer, former Member of the Corporate Executive Committee of Siemens AG and Chairman of Asia operations, presented Siemens' systematic innovation approaches based on the platform of Totally Integrated Automation and Totally Integrated Power.
The five breakout sessions at CID, focusing on Siemens support for international business, energy saving, Siemens innovation strategy and localization, modernization of DCS in process market, as well as TIA-based product life-cycle management, gave detailed information and in-depth views. With interactions from the customers, these sessions illustrated Siemens' latest offerings and key strengths in competing in the market and giving answers how to increase the productivity of our customers.
Participants were also given a tour to the Siemens booth at Hannover Fair, where Siemens showcased its automation and drive technology solutions for machine manufacturers, plant constructors and end users this year under the motto of "Increase your productivity". The focus of the Siemens exhibition is a live demonstration from the world of automotive production ¨C from the processing of the raw materials, plant layout, product factory simulation to the automation of machining centers and material handling systems. With regard to the digital factory and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management), the visitor can see solutions for CAD, production simulation or digital product development. Topics such as energy efficiency and safety technology are round off the exhibit.
As the world-leading fair for industrial technology, Hannover Fair is the best platform in the world where Siemens can present its extensive range of products, systems, solutions and services in their entirety. Siemens is the largest exhibitor at this Hannover Fair, with around 4,500 square meters of booth space.
