Successful kick-off

On Sept 23^rd, 2008, "Road to Answers" Media Tour organized by Siemens Automation and Drives Group (A&D) kicked off at the Siemens Beijing Center. It coincided with the Opening Ceremony of Siemens Beijing Center, with participation of more than 300 guests including government officials, business partners, Siemens employees and media friends.

Organized by Strategic Marketing and Communications of A&D, "Road to Answers" aims to promote media's understanding about and exposure to A&D business. More than 20 reporters from trade media will have a systematic visit during September to December to over 10 operating companies of A&D, concerning automation technologies, drives, sensors and communication, low-voltage control and distributions. This is the first time that A&D holds such a comprehensive media-targeted communication activity. Four tours regarding Factory Automation, Process Automation, Low-voltage Business and Siemens Corporate Values will be held respectively with participation of major trade and mass media concerned.

Mr. Herweck, Executive Vice-President of Siemens Ltd, China and President of Industry Sector, delivered keynote speech at the kick-off press conference. "Siemens A&D has been striving to provide innovative concepts and technologies to our customers tailored to their needs. We expect this tour to fully display Siemens' long-term, enduring commitment to the China market, and illustrate our corporate values 'Excellence, Innovative and Responsible,'" he said. Dr. Li Hui from Siemens Corporate Technology, who was also present at the press conference, made an excellent speech on "Research and Innovation", arousing media's strong interest.

Later the media visited Siemens Forum and A&D Demo Room in the new building, acquiring better understanding about Siemens' century-old development in China as well as A&D's product portfolio and applications.

First tour "Leadership in factory automation with rich product portfolio" held in Beijing and Tianjin

The first tour, under the theme of "Leadership in factory automation with rich product portfolio", was held successfully during Sept 24-25. The invited media visited in Beijing Siemens Factory Automation Engineering Co Ltd and A&D Training Center Beijing, and in Tianjin Siemens Electrical Drives Ltd, Siemens Mechanical Drive Systems (Tianjin) Co Ltd, and Winergy Drive Systems (Tianjin) Co Ltd. Managers from Large Drives, Mechanical Drives and Winergy BUs and related operating companies introduced related markets, Siemens business, product lines and services, conducting active communications with the media friends.
With professional and detailed introduction of related engineers, the media had a wonderful, solid experience of integrating their theories with real production.

During the tour, media also visited Tianjin University of Technology and Education, which is one of the universities that A&D conducts intensive cooperation with in China. Apart from devices donation and offering internship opportunities, Siemens conducts joint research and innovation development together with the university, bringing substantial benefits to all parties involved - Siemens, universities, students and employees etc.

At the end of the two-day visit, media friends expressed their satisfaction of the first tour and also expectations towards the next. We wish "Road to Answers" a fruitful tour!
