Siemens continues to strengthen its precedance in process automation field, unites and purchases Danfoss flow meter department. Danfoss flow meter department is one of the leading manufacturers in electronic measurement of liquid and gas flow rate field. The sales network spread all over the world. In Norrbott of Danmark and Stonehouse of Britian, there is a production base respectively. Through this integration, Danfoss flow meter department will follow Siemens development strategy, and concentrate on core business, to ensure the leading position in the market.
Process automation is a strategic business of Siemens A&D, which has large growth potential. Now, about a quarter requirement of process instruments are flow meters. "Through the complement of Danfoss flow products to our products, we will fill in the blanks between instrumental products and technology process and rise the market share in main customers and area greatly", explained by Mr. Hubert Ovenhausen, officer of management in Siemens A&D.
Danfoss President and CEO Jorgen M. Clausen added: "Through this integration, Danfoss flow measuring technology will be in leading position in the market, and Danfoss can focus on core business in future". We do so only because we believe Siemens will improve our flow measuring business, and make our work more steady. And for staff, more employment chances will be provided."
This agreement will integrate Siemens A&D and Danfoss flow department, the latter will be Siemens flow meter department, the head office of which will be in Norrboltt, responsible for global development, production and sales. World-wide flow meter sales network will be integrated with Siemens existing sales network.
Siemens A&D is a leading supplier in global manufacturing automation system, product and system solution. And in process automation field, Siemens is trying to catch up. For this goal, Siemens A&D has made several successful unite coalition and purchase: Applied Automation in United States(1999), Turbo-Werk in Germany Colon(1999), Milltronics Process Instruments in Canada (2000), Moore Process Automation in United States(2000), Axiva of Germany(2000), AltOptronic in Sweden(2001).
