On July 7^th, 2008, the 3rd Shanghai International Energy-saving & Environmental Protection Exhibition was officially curtain-up. This exhibition was held by six organizations including Shanghai Energy-saving Association and Shanghai Energy-saving Service Center. Based on two concepts of "energy-saving" and "environmental protection", it mainly consisted of four parts: The review of 2007 Shanghai Energy-saving and Environmental Protection, energy-saving technology and product display section, constructional energy-saving section, household energy-saving experience section.

As a famous company in an international leading position in the automation field, Siemens (China) Co., Ltd., Automation and Drive Group positively attended the 2008 China Energy-saving activity and this exhibition. In the exhibition, Siemens displayed the internationally advanced energy-saving technology and product including MM4 series inverter, high performance vector and moment control technology to the industrial customer.

It is worth to mention that, in order to make the shanghai energy-saving and environmental production to be implemented thoroughly and strengthen the company self-innovation ability as well as competition ability in domestic and international market, the committee held the awards through discussion of energy-saving technology and product, promoted the advanced efficient energy saving, environmental protection technology and product. The evaluation team consisted of many industrial experts from Shanghai Energy-saving Association, Shanghai Motors Association, Shanghai Electricity Power Association and Shanghai Electricity Power Energy–saving Association. The gold, silver, copper and innovation awards were estimated upon the principle of "Open and fair justice" and precise evaluation rules. Siemens MM4 standard inverter won the silver prize of 2008 Shanghai International Energy-saving & Environmental Protection Exhibition among many participants based on its high quality product and excellent energy-saving performance.
