On May 22, RMB168,665 donations by the employees of Siemens Factory Automation Engineering Limited (SFAE) was handed over to China Red Cross to help the Sichuan people to overcome difficulties and rebuild their homeland.

Sichuan province was hit by a powerful earthquake on May 12, which killed thousands of people and left millions homeless. The whole China was shaken by this tragedy. Like many other people in the country, all the SFAE colleagues show great care to the earthquake victims. The Trade Union of the company called for donations from the employees on May 14. Subsequently, a series of donation activities were held from May 16 to 21 in the SFAE offices across the country.

In just four working days, 660 people or 80 per cent of the total SFAE workforce took part in the donations. Besides, interns, part-time staff, office cleaning people and even food service personnel in the company canteen at the headquarters also made contribution. In time of the serious disaster, the SFAE people have demonstrated their courage and shown love to the suffering people. It was worth mentioning that Mr. Pu Xiaohua, who was injured during the quake when he was visiting customer there, even donated RMB1,000 to express his good wishes to the quake victims.
