Siemens A&D Training Brief News

A&D Beijing Training Center Completed the Training Project for Algeria SONATRACH Company

Early in August, five foreign customers from Algeria SONATRACH Company came to Siemens A&D Beijing training center to participate SIMATIC PCS7 System and Projecting and Programming with F-System in STEP7/PCS7 training courses. Considering their special requirements, we prepared professional English & French training material and provided English-teaching. Besides, we provided Muslim food and comfortable accommodation to respect their habit and customs.

After twelve-day training, the customers not only grasped the basic theory knowledge but also practiced a lot on real equipment. The all-range considerate services on training, diet and accommodation won the foreign customers' thanks and appreciation.

A&D Region North sales won the DCS project worth 5.8 million RMB which is adapted to Algeria Gas Condensate Equipment project of CNPC and built a very impressive image of Siemens to CNPC. This project is not only a big order for Beijing training center but also contributed a lot for training centers' overseas development in the future.


Cultivating for China Crane's Future

It's well-known in A&D that crane business keeps booming all around in recent years and now it still maintains a sustainable progress in gear with the growth of China local industries. In such circumstance, A&D Motion Control decided to launch a cultivating project specifically for China crane's future with unanimous consent– Crane Engineering Trainee project.

The aim of Crane Engineering Trainee project is to build a mature engineering team and to consolidate a strong knowledge base to meet requirement of crane professions on engineering and commissioning in near future. Therefore, a series of Siemens training programs have been planned out and taken in process with intensive care.

So far, 19 trainees have signed with Siemens after finishing their school works and receiving the diplomas. Since April of this year, they have taken the training programs which are tailored out though joint operational works of Motion Control Crane, Training Center, Customer Service, Siemens Factory Automation Engineer Co., Ltd, Siemens Management Institute and other crane-related working departments.

Having acknowledged their educational background, social experiences in their study period and with a close observation on individual's personality by Human Resource, Motion Control Crane, Siemens Factory Automation Engineer Co., Ltd, Training Center have framed a thoughtful training plan which includes new comers' integration training for 1 week, 3 months of crane-customized basic training by Training Center, 7 months of site commissioning training by Siemens Factory Automation Engineer Co., Ltd, 1 month training rotating in crane sales works and order processing, and finally 1 month of advanced technical training by crane headquarters. At the end of each training session, there is a specific assessment to be strict implemented to grade each person's qualification and technical level.

In April 11th, the first group of Crane Engineering Trainees from Crane center entered Training Center. Since the training is one part of the Crane Engineering training project, the trainers from Training Center constitute the detailed training courses on the base of studying the request & character of the project and discussing with Motion Control Crane, which including:

  • S7-300/400 system course
  • SIMATIC S7 PROFIBUS-DP & SIMATIC S7 Industrial Ethernet
  • WinCC System& WinCC Flexible course
  • Master Drive Series 6SE70 (CUVC)
  • SINAMICS S120 service and commissioning course
  • Simotion Basic Course

The cooperation not only promotes the co-progress of Training Center & A&D Motion Control, but also brings the new challenge & opportunity to Training Center.

The latter training for the trainees being arranged by the engineering sector of Siemens Factory Automation Engineer Co., Ltd is on the base of the actual instance. They will join the various debugging projects and accomplish the actual project of seven month's duration. Besides this training, the trainees will have an exercitation to realize the distribution for about one month. The final training being constituted by Crane HQ is the advanced technology training. For ensuring the quality of the plan and advancing the trainees' technical level effectively, there will be the comprehensive evaluations & tests made by the professionals before the end of each phase of training.

This project is the first cultivation project of crane trainees run by Motion Control, with strongly support by Training Center and Siemens Factory Automation Engineer Co., Ltd as two main training providers. All of the training courses, the relevant assignments, the latest technical materials, the assessment contents, site commissioning operations are not only specially designed but wholly mentored as well.

The whole training is still going on at the moment and has a long way for the young men to go. It is anticipated that all A&D members give a warm hand in propping up new generation of hope, while it is also highly expected that they will grow as fast as they can, up to be the qualified combative technical force in China crane team.


A&D Shanghai Training Center won great contract with Ma Steel Group

Ma Steel Group Company is one of super huge Steel company group in China. It has China's most advanced hot steel-rolling line for H shaped steel product. Also, it is the biggest professional wheel manufactory in China, having over 20 international-standard production lines which forms unique product framework. 80% of the total steel products reach the related international standard. The huge project of New Ma Steel Zone is currently the largest industrial construction project as well as the important project of 861 Action Plan of Anhui Province. The huge-valued training contract is exactly based on the urgent call for talent of New Ma Steel Zone project.

A&D Shanghai training center spent nearly one year to deeply follow the client. With the great help and cooperation of our trainers, the marketing team of Shanghai training center did various marketing activities to explore clients' complicated demand, such as via organizing professional training forum to enhance customers' understanding of training center and its training business; via doing detailed investigations among Ma Steel's secondary factories; via combining training center with every Siemens Workshop in Ma Steel. With thorough communication and interaction, we get a clear idea of its main training demand and further offered a professional training package solution for the whole engineering staff of New Ma Steel Zone. In detailed, basic course for new hands and assistant engineer; system course for experienced engineers; professional course of skill development & on-site solution for advanced engineer; advanced course for the engineering expert, etc. We try to supporting Ma Steel's technique teamwork with training center's professional training service.

As one of the most important orders training center received so far, the big achievement is the success teamwork of the whole training center. It's also a success breakthrough of exploring an independent channel without project related cooperation for further training market. The training package mainly deals with SEPT7, NET, WinCC, Drive and SINUMERIK, totally 19 courses. The trainees are widely from 7 secondary factories of Ma Steel, roughly 112 participants. The key of the training package focus on the 2 big on-site training of S7-300/400 PLC system courses. This exactly meets the training feature of New Industrial zone development. It's also a symbol of the general launch of talent cultivation in New Ma Steel Industrial Zone.

In the training execution, we're faced up with quite a lot of difficulties. With the close co-ordination of the whole Dept., Finally we fixed the entire training element; furthermore, we equipped the trainer with rich experience in Steel Industry to undertake the on-site training. This enjoyed a quite good effect and influence. Currently, the training package is under smooth execution. We sincerely hope this first wide training program would just be the beginning of the two parties.


Training, the Constant Drive for Long-term Development
--Interview to Mr. Gong Meihua, senior engineer of Jiangxi Xinyu Iron & Steel Co.,Ltd

On 23rd August, we interviewed Mr. Gong Meihua, senior engineer of Jiangxi Xinyu Iron & Steel Co., Ltd who participated 10-day A7111(SIMATIC S7-300/400 System, service & Programming Plus) course in Guangzhou training center.

As he said, the automation department of Xinyu Iron & Steel Co., Ltd is a technology-intensive part with certain amount of technicians and engineers. Currently, there's a 20-engineer software development team which is able to undertake the project independently. They do well in high-building technology, have abilities of carbonizing, sintering, generating oxygen and are researching on converter, high speed rolling and steel sheet. With the company's development in technology, its personnel's engineering level has been improved impressively and accumulated lots of experience for using and maintaining Siemens products of PLC and Drive. The PLC products of Siemens S7300/400 series have been widely used in Xinyu Iron & Steel Co., Ltd and especially in areas of steel plate, converter, high speed rolling even blast furnace etc.

The company paid much attention to personnel's training and faculty improvement. All new staff of automation field would be arranged with training not only restricted to the traditional apprentice form, but also the strategy of working out and invite in which means sending engineers for external training and invite specialists for on-site training in factory. The company had invited professional trainers of PLC and drives to train the engineers before. This time, it sent 6 staff included project manager and fresh graduated student to Guangzhou for training. After completion of this course, they would immediately join a new technical innovation project.

Run back over the past 10 days at the end of this training, Mr. Gong felt deeply impressed by Guangzhou training center's tidy and comfortable environment, well-equipped devices. On one side, he appreciated the systematic, from the shallower to the deeper training method. All participants solved lots of knowledge blind spot in their working experiences and moved on a higher technical level. On the other side, he thought the theory with practice teaching method was high effective. The participants could operate on the equipment after theory learning very soon. Besides, all staff in Guangzhou training center, both trainers and other staffs was very helpful and considerate which make them feel just like at home.

At the end of the interview, Mr. Gong sincerely wished Siemens Automation and Drives Group Guangzhou training center would have a more bright future.


Siemens A&D Guangzhou Training Center Launched SIMATIC PCS7 Course

On August 20th, Siemens A&D Guangzhou training center launched A1501 SIMATIC PCS7 system course for the first time.

The participants came from SINOPEC Guangzhou Branch Company Meter Control Center, Lianzhong Stainless Steel Corporation, Sizhou Mill Run of Dexing Copper Mine, Jiangxi Textile Institute, Guixi Smelter, Siemens A&D I&S etc.

This was based on the wide and deep researching work for SIMAITC PCS7 market opportunity. After marketing department's successful promotion job and trainers' professionally competent spirit, Guangzhou training center realized this break through.


Cool Summer of Wuhan

When talking of city of stove, people will remind of Wuhan. Wuhan is a city with four distinctive seasons. As there are many rivers and lake distributed in the city, the heat persists all day in summer which makes people feel like in the sauna room. This summer is not excepting.

People would not like to come to Wuhan this season in the past. However, Wuhan training center has arranged many courses. The participants are all very positive regardless of the hot weather. Considering many participants came from other regions and might not feel as good as at home, Wuhan training center prepared special diet and various fruit to relieving summer-heat. Water melon, honey-dew melon, bananas and apples bring cool feelings to the participants which help them to finish the training in this hot summer.

In the middle of July, the central region of Chongqing and its other 22 districts and counties had buffeted torrential rain.

On Monday, July 16th, the main thoroughfares of the city were cut off by the heavy rain. Many participants got all wet on their way to the training center. One participant who had caught bad cold could not help sneezing. Wang A-yi found her own clothes for her to change and helped to dry her wet clothes under the hand dryer. When the rain stopped, Wang A-yi bought medicine for colds which prevent the illness getting worse.

Wang A-yi pays lots of concern on participants' study and life. She often helps participants to order tickets and introduces Chongqing's local specialties. Participants studied in Chongqing training center impressed by Wang A-yi's warm-hearted consideration.


Shenyang Training Center Won the training contract with Benxi Iron and Steel Croup Co., Ltd

After a whole year's effort, Siemens A&D Shenyang training center successfully got the training contract with Benxi Iron and Steel Croup Co., Ltd. It was a milestone of the training business development and enlarged the coverage rate in Iron and Steel field!

Since October, 2006, with the help of trainers' team, the marketing staff of Shenyang training center visited customer of Benxi Iron and Steel Croup Co., Ltd for marketing research and the specially prepared courses for Iron & Steel field finally won the customer's recognitions.

In the past, most training cases were gained by project. However, to develop more firm and sustainable customer, we followed training center's business tracks to bring up HR line. This contract was the first successful case in Shenyang training center of this kind.

In the future business development, with the constant enterprising spirit and cooperation with trainers' team, the training business will make more great progress.
