The show's on the road with Siemens A&D: a train full of experiences on display
In a mobile trade show on rails, Siemens Automation and Drives (A&D) is demonstrating its expertise as an industrial solution provider in 14 railroad cars: the train is called "Exider" and will travel a circuit of more than one hundred cities in Europe and Asia over the next two years. Highlighting the dynamic character of the train, Siemens chose the name Exider to associate it as the purveyor of a world of experience for the "Future of Automation". The Siemens train rolls along on 56 axes at a total length 300 meters, presenting the complete range of A&D products from an unusual perspective.
"With the Exider, we want to take our show out to the customers and join them on a trip through the world of modern industrial automation, drive, switching and installation technology," explained Head of Siemens A&D Group Communication Peter Miodek in reference to the project. He considers the Exider more than just a "rolling exhibition". The Exider spotlights both technology and trends as well as Siemens' industry expertise under the motto "One-stop solutions".
The road show focuses on specific sector solutions, for example for the pharmaceutical and fine chemicals industry, for automobile manufacturers or machine building. The presentations offer visitors clear and concise perspectives on the advantages of partnering up with Siemens A&D. Miodek adds: "Siemens considers itself a leader in technology and an architect of the modern industrial society with wide-ranging expertise and experience. We consistently implement the know-how for our target groups and are trendsetters for profitable innovations for our customers."
The train presents the range of services offered by Siemens A&D in an entirely new way, combining technical topics with a world of experiences on wheels. Visitors encounter a captivating, emotional world with interactive elements including, for example, Internet connections and user-dialog exhibits.
The Siemens Exider will kick off its tour on 20 March in Prague and will continue on through 70 European cities in 22 countries and 21 cities in China over the next two years. It will stop mainly at major cosmopolitan train stations like Leipzig, Budapest, Antwerp, Madrid and Beijing. "Train stations provide a fascinating environment, they are milestones of architecture and - just as importantly - are always centrally located," said Head of Group Communication Director Miodek. Plans are already being made to extend the tour to other continents.
