Siemens' Special Train "Exider" Arrived at Changchun Siemens A&D, who owns the leading industry automation products and solutions in the world and its partners in China, have just started their 16-city touring demonstration in China for the global trip of the "Exider" on Oct. 10, 2003. On Oct., 13^th , the messenger for Siemens' innovative technology arrived at Changchun and can be visited by industrial users for two days.

In the morning of 13^th, a grand opening ceremony was held at Changchun Railway Station where the train was staying. The vice-mayor of Changchun People's Government, Li AN and other concerned leaders visited the site personally and showed full interest on the whole train. They were very much impressed by the peak industrial technologies from Siemens demonstrated on the train, and expressed their best wishes for the exhibition. They also emphasized the importance of enhancing international technical exchange and supporting the development of the local economy by making use of international advanced technology. Mr. Bole HAI, senior manager of Siemens A&D, also expressed on the opening ceremony his long-term concern on the industrial construction in Jilin Province. He hopes for strengthening the cooperation with the industrial enterprises in Jilin and surrounding areas, which he would like to be based on high technologies and by using the radiation of the industrial city of Changchun.

It is deserved to be mentioned that Siemens is one of the most important suppliers for inspecting products for whole automobile production lines. On the 14th, when concerned leaders of Siemens led the messenger for innovative automation technology to Changchun First Automobile Works-Volkswagen, the "Exider" became the platform for no-distance exchange between First Automobile Works-Volkswagen and Siemens A&D.

Both parties carried out a wide and unprecedented dialogue and communication. During the complete and humanized communication, First Automobile Works-Volkswagen - from technicians and engineers up to the management - and Siemens technicians, had endless technical inspirations in the wide exchanging space of cars. It is likely that these technical inspirations will finally be reflected by the improvement in automobiles quality and living standard. The blue magic train, which stopped at Changchun Station, is the lead for the touring demonstration - Siemens "Exider". With one-and-half-year of attractive travel across Europe and Harbin Station, the messenger of full of automation technology has conquered every visitor with his scientific design and high technology contents. With great support of the Ministry of Railway, the touring demonstration in China of the "Exider" started on Oct. 10th from Harbin, via Changchun, Shenyang, Beijing, Tianjin, Jinan, Nanjing, Shanghai, Wuhan, Zhengzhou, Xi'an, Chengdou, Chongqing, Guiyang, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, i.e. 16 cities. The journey will end at Shenzhen in the early of December 2003.

The Siemens "Exider" has a length up to 300m and consists of 14 cars, which all demonstrate the most progressive application cases and technology in the field of industrial automation worldwide. The contents cover more than 40,000 products, systems and solutions from Siemens Automation & Driving Group and demonstrate in an all-sided way the application tendency for the future in industrial and basic construction, including Process Automation, Totally Integrated Automation, automation in machining, in machine manufacturing, energy management and E-manufacturing system, etc.

There are several visual vibrations, extensive and detailed introductions, dynamic multimedia video demonstrations and no-distance contacts, which can be attended on the train. All exhibits show the high efficiency of automation in solving actual problems in the industrial systems.
