Since 1879, in which year Siemens installed the first power generator for Shanghai for lighting of Shanghai Port, Siemens has established an indissoluble bond with Shanghai, the internationalized metropolis, and begun the brilliant cooperation and long-term friendship with Shanghai for more than 100 years up to now.

The spring breeze from the policy of "Reform and Open to Outside World" has spread to everywhere of China. In 1985, Siemens (China) Ltd. Shanghai Subsidiary was founded formally. This symbols that the deep and broad cooperation between Siemens and Shanghai has entered into a new historical stage. Siemens A & D has been actively participating in the construction and development in such fields as economy, culture, education and infrastructure of Shanghai, and has demonstrated and provided in an all-sided way the most advanced technologies, products and excellent solutions to the industrial automation and basic construction of Shanghai. Siemens A & D has also actively been engaged in the education of Shanghai and has expanded its exchange & cooperation with universities. In Shanghai Tongji University, Sino-Germany Institute is established, where it has a Siemens classroom donated by Siemens, which is used for the technical education of the Institute.

This year, the 16-city touring demonstration in China among its global trip for "Exider" from Siemens A & D Group will take part in the annual Shanghai International Industrial Fair.
