Siemens A&D, who owns the leading industry automation products and solutions in the world and its partners in China, have just started their 16-city touring demonstration in China for the global trip of the "Exider" on Oct. 10, 2003. On Oct.,16, the messenger for Siemens' innovative technology arrived at Shenyang and can be visited by industrial users for two days.

In the Morning of 16^th, a grand opening ceremony was held at Shenyang Freight Railway Station where the train was staying. The Vice-mayor of Shenyang, Changyi ZHAO visited the site personally and showed full interest on the whole train and showed full interst in the whole train. He was very much impressed by the peak industrial technologies from Siemens demonstrated on the train, and expressed his best wishes for the activity. He also emphasized the importance of enhancing international technical exchange and supporting the development of the local economy by making use of international advanced technology. Mr. Smith, executive Vice-President of Siemens (China) Ltd. and CEO of A & D, congratulated China during the opening ceremony on the success of the first manned space flight of China, and pointed out his hopes for still stronger growing technology development in China which will create continuously brilliant achievements. Meanwhile, he expressed his long-term concern in the industrial construction in Liaoning Province, and hopes to strengthen the cooperation continuously with the industrial enterprises in Liaoning and surrounding areas, which he would like to be based on high technologies and by using the radiation of the industrial city of Shenyang.

For a long time, with its most advanced automation systems and services, Siemens Automation & Driving Group has cooperated with local industrial enterprises in Liaoning closely, and has been contributing its force for the construction of the industrial base of Shenyang. Amongst the visitors, who atteded the opening ceremony for the touring demonstration in China for "Exider" at Shenyang were also representatives from the enterprises which are playing a key role in the basic industrial construction of Jilin. E. g. No.1 Automobile Group, Changchun Track Passenger Car Holdings Ltd., and Changchun CNC Machine Tool Co. Ltd., etc.

The blue magic train, which stopped at Shenyang Station, is the lead for the touring demonstration - Siemens "Exider". With one-and-half-year of attractive travel across Europe and Harbin Station, the messenger of full of automation technology has conquered every visitor with his scientific design and high technology contents. With great support of the Ministry of Railway, the touring demonstration in China of the "Exider" started on Oct. 10th from Harbin, via Changchun, Shenyang, Beijing, Tianjin, Jinan, Nanjing, Shanghai, Wuhan, Zhengzhou, Xi'an, Chengdou, Chongqing, Guiyang, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, i.e. 16 cities. The journey will end at Shenzhen in the early of December 2003.

The Siemens "Exider" has a length up to 300m and consists of 14 cars, which all demonstrate the most progressive application cases and technology in the field of industrial automation worldwide. The contents cover more than 40,000 products, systems and solutions from Siemens Automation & Driving Group and demonstrate in an all-sided way the application tendency for the future in industrial and basic construction, including Process Automation, Totally Integrated Automation, automation in machining, in machine manufacturing, energy management and E-manufacturing system, etc.

There are several visual vibrations, extensive and detailed introductions, dynamic multimedia video demonstrations and no-distance contacts, which can be attended on the train. All exhibits show the high efficiency of automation in solving actual problems in the industrial systems. With an introduction from the technicians of Siemens Automation, the visitors are able to understand the products, systems, solutions and professional technologies in such fields like steel, machinery, metallurgy, food, beverage, packaging, automobile and petrochemical, etc. more deeply.
