Siemens Automation & Drives Group (A&D), owner of the leading industry automation products and solutions worldwide, has started its 16-city touring demonstration in China for the global trip of its messenger of technologies - the "Exider" on Oct. 10th, 2003. On Oct.24th, the train full of magic technical experiences arrived at Tianjin and could be visited by local professional users for one day.

In the morning of 24th, a grand opening ceremony was held at the Tianjin Railway Station where the train was staying. The Vice-mayor of the People's Government of Tianjin, Dongliang Yang and other concerned leaders visited the site personally and showed full interest in the whole train. They were very much impressed by the peak industrial technologies from Siemens which are demonstrated on the train, and expressed their best wishes for the activity in China. They also emphasized the importance of enhancing international technical exchange and supporting the development of the local economy by making use of international advanced technology. Mr. Yuanning Bao, CEO of Siemens Ltd. (China) A&D Group of the North Region expressed on the opening ceremony his great thanks to the long-term support from the Tianjin Municipal Government and pointed out the good relationship in long-term cooperation between Siemens and the basic industrial economy of Tainjin. . Meanwhile he announced his hopes for even more cooperation to promote the construction and development of the industrial economy of Tianjin.

For a long time and with its most advanced automation systems and services, Siemens A&D Group has cooperated with local industrial enterprises in Tianjin closely, and has also been contributing its force for the construction of the industrial base. Amongst the visitors, who attended the opening ceremony for the touring demonstration in China for "Exider" at Tianjin were also representatives from the enterprises which are playing a key role in the infrastructural construction of Shandong. E.g. Tianjin Steel Tube Co., Tianjin Electric Driving Research Institute, Tianjin General Subway Co., Tianjin Subsidiary of Zhonghai Petroleum, Tianjin Harbor Bureau, and Tianjin Pu-Chen Electronics Engineering Co. Ltd., etc.

The blue magic train, which stopped at Tianjin Station , is the lead for the touring demonstration - Siemens "Exider". With one-and-half-year of successful travel across Europe and a lot of praises from the three Chinese northeast provinces and the capital of China - Beijing, the messenger full of automation technology has conquered every one with his scientific design and high technology contents. With strong support of the Ministry of Railway, the 16-city touring demonstration of "Exider" in China started on Oct. 10th from Harbin, via Changchun, Shenyang, Beijing, Tianjin, Jinan, Nanjing, Shanghai, Wuhan, Zhengzhou, Xi'an, Chengdou, Chongqing, Guiyang, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, i.e. 16 cities altogether. The activity will end at Shenzhen in the early of December.

The Siemens "Exider" has a length up to 300m and consists of 14 cars, which all demonstrate the most advanced application cases and technology in industrial automation worldwide. The contents cover more than 40,000 products, systems and solutions from Siemens A&D Group and demonstrate the application tendency for the future in industrial and basic construction in an all-sided way, including Process Automation, Totally Integrated Automation, Automation in Machining, In-Machine Manufacturing, Energy Management and E-manufacturing System.

There are several visual vibrations, extensive and detailed introductions, dynamic multimedia video demonstrations and no-distance contacts, which can be attended on the train. All exhibits show the high efficiency of automation in solving current problems in industrial systems. With an introduction from the technicians of Siemens Automation, the visitors are able to understand the products, systems, solutions and professional technologies in such fields like steel, machinery, metallurgy, food, beverage, packaging, automobile and petrochemical, etc. more deeply. The Totally Integrated Automation, Totally Integrated Power, Integrated Security and E-business concepts, which are put forward and implemented by Siemens, are unique in the industrial field. They show that Siemens is a reliable partner in aspects of system and planning in every level of the value-added chain, and emphasize a clear orientation for users.
