SINAMICS G120: Connecting external DC 24V power supply

Sometimes an external DC 24V power supply is needed to keep the control unit powered up when the mains supply of the SINAMICS G120 inverter is switched off. The way to connect external DC 24V varies depending on the frame size of power modules.

How to connect the external DC 24V power supply to SINAMICS G120?

The way to connect external DC 24V varies depending on the frame size of power modules.

1. If the power module is in FSA ~ FSF, the external DC 24V power supply should be connected to T31 and T32 on CU.

2. If the power module is in FSGX, the external DC 24V power supply should be connected to T1 and T2 on X9 terminal block. Avoid connecting the external DC 24V power supply to T31 and T32 on the CU as this may cause nuisance tripping on these Power Modules.
