The S7-300 and M7 recognize only the "warm restart" startup mode; newer CPUs also recognize the cold restart.
You can select for S7-400 devices whether a startup after power on leads to a cold restart (for newer CPUs), a warm restart, or a hot restart. A warm restart or a hot restart after power on is also called an automatic warm restart or automatic hot restart.
The selected startup mode is independent of the startup mode switch setting for CPUs with a startup key switch.
