Management Information System (MIS)
The Management Information System (MIS) is designed to support the management in all decisions, present and future, to assist in the analysis and evaluation of existing conditions and work procedures and to back marketing and sales support. This ability to quickly and thoroughly analyze any aspect of operational procedures provides invaluable help in the constant effort to increase the efficiency of operations.
The MIS helps you answer questions like:
How many flights were there per hour? How many in total, how many per airline, per aircraft type, per position and gate? Preferably with additional information on available and not available seats.
How many delays occurred? What kinds of delays? Who was involved, including duration of involvement? What other resources were involved?
What caused the delays?
Which airlines are punctual? Which are not? If not, what type of aircraft is used when most delays occur? Does it depend on the number of passengers? If so, at what point does it start to become critical?
Which parking positions are mostly used? Where do most irregularities happen? Do they depend on the time of day?
Which other resources were available at the time?
How often were resources used?
How many times were the delays due to problems with a specific resource?
