How can I uninstall the default games in Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional?

The preinstalled games can be uninstalled as follows:

Make the following settings on the desktop via double-click on My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > View (Fig. 1):

Via Start > Search > For Files or Folders, search for the file sysoc.inf. This file is located in the Windows installation directory in the folder inf (e.g. C:\WINNT\inf).


Save this file as a backup in a different path.


Open the file with a text editor and remove just the "HIDE" entry in the following lines. Make sure that the two commas are not deleted.

Games=ocgen.dll,OcEntry,games.inf,HIDE,7
AccessUtil=ocgen.dll,OcEntry,accessor.inf,HIDE,7


Save and close the file.


Via Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Add/Remove Windows Components > Accessories and Utilities you can now remove the games.
