Installation hints for ServicePack 5:

· Administrator rights are required for installation of the STEP 7-Micro/WIN software and for the function "Set up PG/PC interface".

· To be able to work with the STEP 7-Micro/WIN software under Windows 2000 or XP you must register as 'Power User'.

· Leave the existing STEP 7-Micro/WIN version installed on the system before you start with the update. The ServicePack installation program will check whether a valid STEP 7-Micro/WIN V4.0.x version is installed on the target system.

· Please close all applications, including the MS Office function bar, before you install the Service Pack. Other applications using the same system files must also be closed for proper installation of the STEP 7-Micro/WIN update.

· The Micro/WIN Tools TD Keypad Designer and the S7-200 Explorer will also be upgraded together with the installation of this update.

Installation instructions for Service Pack 5:

1. To download the file please click on the link below and then ‘Save’.
You will then be asked to enter the directory in which the file is to be saved.

2. Use the Windows Explorer to get to the directory in which you have saved the file and then double-click the downloaded installation file to start the installation.

3. Thereafter you will be asked to uninstall Micro/WIN V4.0.x.
Without this step the Service Pack cannot be installed properly!!!

4. In the control panel open ("Start" -> "Settings" -> "Control panel") of the PC, go to "Software" -> "Change or remove programs", select "SIMATIC STEP 7-Micro/WIN V4.0.x." and click the button "Change/Remove". Confirm the checkback question with "Yes".
Restart your computer after that.

5. Start the installation by calling up the downloaded installation file in the temporary subdirectory from step 1 above.

6. Follow the instructions displayed during the installation process.
